Charity Projects for 2016
Right now our goal is four charity quilts this year, one per quarter!
Quarter 1/January: QuiltCon Quilt! Courtney has pieced the top, Caroline provided the backing and it's been handed off to Lisa to quilt.
Quarter 2/March: OSU Craft Center Quilt! For this quilt we will be doing a Disappearing Nine Patch quilt. Members, please make 2 blocks using fabric from your stash – finished blocks will be due at the March 11th Meeting. There are a lot of tutorials out there, but here is the one Courtney used for her sample. NOTE: Please use 5" squares to make your block. Please make the center block white or low-volume white then alternate black and orange (prints or solids) blocks around the white.
Quarter 3/July: We’re looking for suggestions! Tanya suggested a donation to the Soroptimist International to be auctioned off at the annual Tea Fundraiser. If anyone else has ideas, let us know in the comments or by email.
Quarter 4/October: Hour Baskets for a local nursing home! Kelly shared that over the holidays she made a basket for her 96-year old Nana and learned it fit wonderfully on the back of a wheel chair! Here is the 1 Hour Basket Tutorial.

Pattern Show & Tell and New Year Goals
We’ve got lots of goals for 2016! Many of us want to finish projects and works in progress in addition to learning new techniques and expanding our skills!
Show & Tell Highlights
Linda made this pretty quilt for her mom. She used the block of the month from the Marys River Quilt guild, quilted each block individually and then pieced them together.
Christina shared two quilt tops she's finished recently!
If you haven't heard, Lisa got a long arm! She shared the first quilt she quilted on it, this fun and festive Christmas quilt. She also shared her free motion practice quilt. Looking good Lisa!
Theresa shared a SUPER soft and lovely quilt made from voile, and another made with linen. Both were beautiful!
Thanks for sharing ladies!
February Swap
If you’d like to participate in the swap for the February 12th Meeting, make a Market Bag and bring it to the meeting in a brown paper bag! Everyone who brings a Market Bag to swap will go home with one!
Thanks for a great first meeting of 2016 everyone!
