Each year, the Modern Quilt Guild hosts QuiltCon, the largest modern quilting show of its kind. An exciting part of QuiltCon is the Charity Quilt Challenge!
The Modern Quilt Guild chooses a theme and color palette and then guilds
+ individual members from around the world work to create quilts that
are displayed at the show. The quilts are then sent back to the makers
to be gifted to a local charity.
This year the theme was "text" with a color palette of grey scale.
We choose "alis volat propriis"-- the state motto of Oregon meaning "she flies with her own wings". We love working our beautiful state into our quilts when we can!

The quilt will be back for show + tell at the March 12th meeting! We're
looking forward to showing this quilt off at various events throughout
the year, before we gift it to a local organization.
