June Meeting recap

Our June meeting coincided with the end of the OSU quarter, so there were lots of relieved faces around the table despite the fact that our meeting occurred on Friday the 13th.  I'm happy to report that everything went off without a hitch.

In the News:

The Michael Miller challenge deadline has been extended to July 25th.  So there is still time to get those last minute challenge quilts/projects done! Big prizes this time.

Bring a finished center block in July for the next challenge.  We'll start the Medallion block challenge at the July meeting if you are playing along.

The swap theme for the next meeting is 'Beach'

Upcoming events:

Sew day is Saturday  June 28th at Crossroad's church 12:00-6:00
2555 NW Highland Dr. Corvallis, OR 97330

Our July meeting date is Friday July 11th at the ReNew Church. 7-8:30pm
677 SW 35th St, Corvallis

If you are interested in carpooling to the Sister's quilt show on Saturday, send an email message to the group or email me at trilliumdesign1 at gmail (leave out the spaces).

We will be at the Corvallis Farmer's market on Aug 30th in downtown Corvallis.  Please join us there.

Challenges:

Connie has challenged everyone to enter a quilt into the Benton county fair.  We would love to do a large Modern Quilt Guild display as a group.

We would also love to do a display at the Fall Festival and would love any feedback on this.

What you missed at our June meeting:

Glue Basting! Have you tried it yet? I demonstated this gem of a technique at the meeting and it works like a charm. I am glue basting everything from now on - well ok, many things!

If you are interested in trying this yourself, the fine tips can be purchased from Christy at Purpledaisiesllc.com

Show and Tell:
I need some pictures !!
