Presentation Review

We had a great presentation from Teresa Coates on interfacing! Teresa brought along samples of different interfacings, explained how and when to use which type based on project (t-shirt quilt, bag/basket, clothing, etc.). She also shared her tips for successful fusing - time (count to 10), use steam, apply pressure and let it cool before touching it!

Teresa is a member of the Portland Modern Quilt Guilt, an employee of Fabric Depot and blogs at crinkle dreams. She is full of knowledge and kindly answered a slew of questions about quitting and sewing in general. Thank you Teresa!

Show & Tell Highlights

Our 2016 QuiltCon quilt has returned! If you know an organization that would enjoy this bright, fun quilt please let us know!

Our Quarter 2 charity quilt is ready to hand off to Lisa for quilting! Thank you to everyone that made blocks and special thanks to Shelia for piecing the top at Sew Day last month and to Linda for piecing the back!

Don shared some blocks for a quilt in-progress! He hopes to have this finished for show and tell at our May Meeting.

Michelle finished piecing the top of this adorable quilt she's making her niece. Looks amazing Michelle!

Susan shared a quilt top made from a swap she was in. For this swap, she provided the center square to each participant and they had creative control of the coordinating fabrics. Nice job Susan!

Lisa shared this fun Rebel Quilt! This quilt was raffled off to help a friend of hers who is going through cancer treatments. Wonderful Lisa!

Our April swap was pin cushions - so cute!

Looking Ahead to May

The May swap will be FAT QUARTERS! Feel free to bring several - bring a fat quarter, get a fat quarter!
